The Lion ring by Macabre Gadgets is a handcrafted marble lion head cameo ring — a sculpted lion face in bonded marble, set into a round sterling silver bezel on a clean silver band.

The form references the classical intaglio ring — a carved stone or relief set into a metal band, worn across the ancient world as a seal of identity and authority. Roman senators, generals, and emperors wore intaglio rings as marks of rank; the image pressed into wax became a signature. The Lion ring carries that tradition forward: the lion face as the defining mark, the silver bezel as its frame.

The lion’s authority in classical art begins with Hercules. The Nemean Lion — an invulnerable beast that terrorised the region of Nemea — was the first of his twelve labours. Hercules killed it with his bare hands and wore its pelt as armour for the rest of his life. From that moment, the lion became the symbol of proven, controlled force across the classical world — the face that appears on coins, seals, and rings from Greece to Rome to the ancient Near East.

Smaller and more refined than the Marble Lion ring, the Lion ring sits closer to the body — the marble cameo precise within its bezel, the silver band clean and minimal.
