The inspiration is Rococo — the grand pearl chokers of 18th-century portraiture. The kind of necklace a Venus from Boucher’s painting would casually recline in. And beneath that: the older myth. Aphrodite born from sea foam, pearls forming where the waves broke. The cascading strands carry both references at once — the opulence of the Rococo salon and the weightless dissolution of sea foam against skin.

The necklace is built around a paradox: something that appears to be coming undone, held together by invisible craft. Multiple strands of luminous pearls cascade from a central element, flowing downward strand by strand — as if dissolving into the skin. It is an illusion. Every pearl is individually hand-knotted, secured to the next with the precision of a traditional workshop.

The foundation is nude cotton sateen — soft, slightly lustrous, the color of bare skin. The pearls are sewn directly into the fabric itself. The nude ribbon is a deliberate reference: the luxurious intimacy of lingerie, the feeling of wearing something close to nothing that is in fact something extraordinary. The result is a necklace that feels weightless against the throat — as if barely there — while reading as a grand, substantial piece from across a room.
