The Satyr pendant by Macabre Gadgets is a handcrafted sculptural marble pendant — the head of the Satyr, known to the Romans as the Faun, carved in white bonded marble and set in a gold-plated or sterling silver fixture on a 50 cm chain.
The Satyr — known as the Faun in Roman mythology — is one of the oldest and most enduring figures of the classical world. Half man, half goat, he is the companion of Dionysus, god of wine and ecstasy, and the embodiment of wild instinct, sensuality, and the untamed forces of nature. Associated with Pan — god of the forest, of shepherds, and of primal desire — he is neither fully civilised nor fully animal: a balance between innocence and instinct, between human form and something more primal.
The pendant captures his face — expressive, beastly, and unmistakably alive — in white bonded marble, set against the warmth of gold-plated silver or the cool precision of sterling silver. The contrast between the stone face and the metal fixture gives the piece its tension: something ancient carried in something refined. The Satyr never chose a side — and the pendant doesn’t either.
Each pendant is individually hand-carved. Natural variations in the marble mean no two pieces share the exact same surface pattern or texture. Last remaining items — once sold, this version will not be restocked.
