The Apollo ring by Macabre Gadgets is a handcrafted mythological marble ring in 24K gold-plated sterling silver — a sculptural portrait of Apollo, one of the most recognisable gods of Ancient Greek mythology.

Apollo is captured as a miniature marble sculpture. His face is carved in white bonded marble, framed by the youthful hairstyle made famous by the Apollo Belvedere — one of the defining images of the god in classical sculpture. Beneath the curls rests a sharp seven-spired crown in 24K gold-plated sterling silver, its radiant silhouette echoing Apollo’s later association with the sun. The luminous marble and warm gold give the impression of an ancient artefact rediscovered and adapted to be worn.

Modern culture remembers Apollo as the beautiful god of music and light. The ancient Greeks saw something far more complex. Son of Zeus and Leto and twin brother of Artemis, Apollo was the god of music, prophecy, poetry, healing, and archery — but also a deity capable of swift and merciless punishment. Four days after his birth he slew the monstrous serpent Python. In Homer’s Iliad, he punished an entire army with a plague of silver arrows. Beautiful and terrifying at the same time, Apollo embodied a divine perfection that inspired both admiration and fear. It is this darker, more complete vision of the god that inspired our interpretation.
