The Medusa ring by Macabre Gadgets is a handcrafted mythological marble ring — the face of the Gorgon, sculpted in bonded marble and crowned with a seashell in sterling silver or 24K gold-plated sterling silver.

Medusa is one of the most enduring figures in Ancient Greek mythology — a Gorgon whose gaze could turn onlookers to stone. In the myth, Perseus used her severed head as a weapon, placing it on his shield to petrify his enemies. Across centuries of reinterpretation, Medusa has become a symbol of protection, feminine power, and the boundary between the mortal and the divine. The seashell crown connects her to the sea — to the coastal world of Greek mythology, to Poseidon’s domain, and to the ancient association between the ocean and the uncanny.

The face of Medusa captures her as a sculptural marble portrait inspired by Hellenistic relief — fierce, feminine, and timeless. The contrast between the rough marble surface and the polished metal of the seashell crown gives the piece its tension: something ancient set against something precise. Executed in a technique combining contemporary materials with traditional craft, the ring achieves the effect of an ancient artefact — something unearthed rather than newly made.

Each ring is individually hand-carved from bonded marble. Natural variations in the stone mean no two pieces share the exact same surface pattern. Last remaining items — once sold, this version will not be restocked.
